Welcome!

Hi everyone,

We’re really pleased to see that the greens are recovering quite nicely from our semi-annual aerating last month.   The course looks fantastic, but we are never satisfied!  Have you noticed?  The greens are faster and the fairways are looking sharp!

Next, we’re turning our attention to the clubhouse.  Within the next week or so, we will be replacing the outdoor carpeting on the clubhouse deck.   We expect this work to take a few days.  The course will remain open during this time, and we will use the back door as the temporary entrance to the clubhouse.  A portable toilet will be available for use as well.  Please bear with us during this time.

Perfect for Dads and Grads

Don’t know what to get your golfing Dads and Grads?   How about Rancho Sierra gift cards, which can be used on anything at Rancho Sierra Golf Course?  Use them just like a prepaid debit card, they can be recharged for any amount.

Book Your Next Tee Time ONLINE

Our new online reservation system has been up and running for a while now.  It’s a fast and simple way of scheduling your tee time 24/7.  Book two months out in advance for golf or footgolf, regular or senior, twilight or nine holes plus, we can handle it all!  No credit card required, simply schedule your tee time online and pay at the course 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tee time.

Thanks to all who have reached out with questions/comments.  Please continue to do so by filling out a suggestion card in the clubhouse, or sending us feedback via your digital receipt.

Thank you for your support!  And please let us know if there is anything we can do to help improve your experience at Rancho Sierra.

News from the Clubhouse

What happened to April showers bring May flowers how about April winds bring more dirt! Haven’t seen this windy of a month in a long time the weather is warm just very windy with some days up to gust at 30 notches. Dress in layers and remember summer is just around the corner.

Thank you! for not complaining about our sandy greens. We aerated the 10th of last month and most of you kept playing right through the plugs and the sand. We do this twice a year it gives our greens a chance to absorb the water and breathe better. We had a chance to sharpen our fairway mower blades which is quite a job so you should see a difference in the fairways, also the greens mower blades so when the sand is gone they should play a little faster. Our hours are from 6:30 to 7:30 and will eventually go to 6 to 8. Please call or make a tee time, you can do this up to 2 months in advance. By doing this it assures you a time and day to start and not have to wait or go to the range which for some the range would be a great starting point to the game.

SNAKES are once again out and looking for warm spots so please be careful when going off the course to look for your ball you just might meet up with a slimy snake basking in the sun. We usually see them on #2 and #9. Stop in and eat we after you play or before and even during, we have hot dogs, polish dogs and on the weekends a crock pot full of chili cooking, along with a full variety of beers and sodas. Not in the mood for a meal there are all kinds of snacks available to take out on the course. Need tees, balls, ball markers shirts, hats and gloves come in next time you’re out here and look around, don’t see what you are looking for ask us and we will try and get it for you.

Thinking of getting together with friends to play make it a tournament and invite friends from work or family we will help you host a tournament. We also have a Men’s Club that play Tuesday, Thursday and Sun come out and play as a guest with them to see if you would like to join. They play a variety of games and have quite a few members. All three days start at 8:00. Show up around 7:30.

“Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated”

Mens Club News

We’ve all finished a round of golf and had a case of the “if s”.  If I wouldn’t have pulled that drive on #1, if I would have gone for the green on #2, if I would have made that putt on #3 etc. IF I COULD DO THOSE OVER, I WOULD HAVE A GREAT SCORE!  How would like to have a “do-over” tournament?   How about getting one mulligan on every hole! Well, on Monday, May 29, the Course and the Mens Club will offer the first ever Memorial Monday Mulligan Tournament!  Yep, each golfer will receive one mulligan per hole!  All golfers with and without a handicap are welcome to participate.  Those with a GHIN handicap will be divided into flights.  Those without a GHIN handicap will use a Modified Peoria handicap and compete in a separate flight. (Don’t worry, we’ll calculate it for you.) Entry fee is $10 to the tournament director plus green fees to the course.  Registration will begin at 7:15, tournament meeting, rules review, and tee assignments at 7:45!  Shotgun start at 8:00.  This is open to all golfers. Awards will also be given for Closest to the Pin on all par 3’s.

Speaking of Memorial Day, a big thank you and a golf clap for all of you men and women who have served or currently serving our country.  Your service is greatly appreciated.

Springtime is here. Weather is warmer, the course is looking better every day. But
Beware of Snakes around the course. Snakes are generally harmless if left alone but keep an eye out when going around the course.

The Rancho Sierra Mens Club has quite a few activities planned on the horizon. On June 25, The Mens Club will host the second annual CR Smith Memorial Tournament.  CR Smith was a long-time member and former President of the Mens Club for many years.  His son, Jon has procured many prizes for this tournament.  Jon is also the current Mens Club President, following in his father’s footsteps.  All golfers are welcomed to participate!
