Welcome!

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a safe and happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. We also hope you got in a lot of golf!

As you know, it’s now fall.  And with fall, where there are deciduous trees there are leaves.  And we have a lot of deciduous trees.  We know it is frustrating to hit a perfect shot straight down the fairway, only to lose it in the leaves.   But Jose and Pedro are blowing and vacuuming up the leaves as fast as possible, so we appreciate your patience and support.  This will be a challenge for a few more weeks until the trees are bare.

They’ve finally arrived!  We have new jackets, visors, hats, and shirts just in time for the holidays and your shopping pleasure.  If we don’t have what you’re looking for, please let us know and we’ll do our best to get it.

Our newly redesigned footgolf course is open!  Designed by US National Footgolf Team members Ramzey Khatib and Jordan Godfrey, this course has both championship (black) and recreational (orange) tees.  Rancho Sierra is proud to be one of Team USA’s practice facilities as they prepare for the upcoming World Cup in Marrakesh, Morocco next month.  Huge thanks to Ramzey, Jordan,  Jorge Vasquez and Jose Acevedo for building the course as well.  Here’s a shot of one of their more challenging championship holes.  For our recreational footgolfers, don’t worry, we don’t expect you to kick over #4 lake!

We are constantly working on improving the course and curb appeal.  Kudos to Eric for the parking lot islands and front landscaping improvements.   We are now tackling the driving range nets and hope to have that completed by early Dec.

Congratulations to Daniel Sanchez who won the drawing for a free golf monthly!

News from the Clubhouse

No more Turkey please!!! I can’t see or eat another turkey sandwich, turkey soup, or turkey pot pie! But I did have a fantastic Thanksgiving with family as I hope the rest of you did.

Now to shopping hurray! Speaking of shopping we have some great deals here inside the club house. New jackets, visors, shirts and a variety of clubs, balls, tees and Gift Certificates in any domination that you would like to spend. Those are the best especially if you aren’t sure what to get a friend or someone in your family.

Right now, all our Men’s Club leagues are teeing off at 9:00 am. The mornings are getting to be in the low 20’s and so far, not too much frost but that is just right around the corner. We do go on twitter to let you know what time the course will be playable so ‘follow us’ and see if it’s warm enough for you to come put and play.

We are starting to serve Hot chili to put on those hot dogs on the cooler days;  also if you’re on the course and are getting hungry you can call the pro shop (around the 6th hole) and request a hot dog or sandwich and we will do our best to have it ready for you when you come in to sit and eat or take it with you while you make the turn.

If you have a complaint about something on the course, be it the players or the course itself please talk to the starters and we will try and go over the problem with you and find a way to improve your golfing experience.

If you want to golf during the Christmas holidays or set up a tournament with your friends, family or co-workers, the staff in the pro shop will help you or if you are just interested in tee times you can always go on our web site www.ranchosierragolf.com and make a tee time.  We will be open everyday of the month except for Christmas Day.

“ Gimme: An agreement between two losers who can’t putt” – so true.

Tips from Our Pro

Hello and thank you for reading this issues golf tip!
Hope everyone’s Holiday Season is off to a great start!
The course is an awesome place to meet new people and strike up friendships along with great conversations…But how many of you are hearing chatter during your swing? “Take the club back low and slow – Pause at the top – Bump my hip etc. etc. etc.”
Have one thought after you go through your pre-shot routine: “Focus on the ball!”
Most of us try to lift the shot in the air. If you have been fit properly for equipment and have the right ball for your swing characteristics….The loft – shaft – ball will do exactly what it’s designed to do.
Stay with the shot!

Here the ball has left the club face and Taylor is still focused on the spot where the ball was sitting. Also, notice how Taylor’s body has stayed down through the impact position. Complete Focus – Complete Trust!

So the next time you’re overwhelmed with all those swing thoughts – Just tell yourself “Enough is enough – Relax – Just focus on the ball! “

Do this and you will have everyone watching you just like Taylor does.

Book your session today!
